Andrew was appointed as Chief Executive Officer on 1 January 2015. He previously held the role of Managing Director of Technology, managing the Technology side of KBC's business including technology development, customer support and strategy development. Prior to joining KBC Andrew worked for Schlumberger, holding senior management positions related to oil and gas development and production, and for Aspen Technology (Hyprotech) where he managed technology development for the oil and gas industry. He started his process engineering career with BP Exploration and has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge. Andrew is a member of the Executive Committee and was first appointed as a Director of KBC in April 2014.
Jon has been with KBC since 2013 and has held previous roles in consulting solutions and most recently Global Operational Excellence. Jon is responsible for the consulting organisation, comprising both solution development, commercial strategy and quality & value delivery. Jon has over 20 years of wide-ranging experience in the energy value chain in local and multinational companies across multiple geographic areas. Diversely experienced in managing and delivering complex transformational programmes, Jon has deep functional expertise in Operational Excellence, lean manufacturing, and in-plant technology enabled operations improvement. He holds a BA/BSc Business (Economics) from the University of Bolton.
Tom brings over 25 years of global sales and operational leadership experience in the energy and technology markets. He joined Yokogawa in January 2016 as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development of Yokogawa Venture Group concentrating on M&A planning and execution, including the acquisitions of Industrial Knowledge and KBC. Tom previously worked at Honeywell in various sales and operational leadership roles including Vice President and Director in their Hi-Spec Solutions advanced application division. Tom served in Honeywell's Asia Pacific operations based in Singapore and also service as President of MyPlant, a Honeywell and Microsoft-funded web solutions venture. In addition, Tom served in executive leadership roles at SCIenergy (SaaS energy management), INOVx Solutions (3D asset virtualisation), and Progressive Gaming. Tom started his career as a process control engineer where he consulted, designed and implemented model predictive control solutions at oil refineries and chemical plants around the world. He holds a BSc Chemical Engineering from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. Tom is a member of the Executive Committee.
James joined KBC in 2000 having gained financial experience via a degree in Finance, training in a London accountancy practice and senior roles in two public companies. He has the role of SVP Financial Planning and Analysis and was appointed Company Secretary in April 2016. As Company Secretary James is responsible for administration of board affairs as well as legal, statutory and compliance matters.
Ramón is responsible for advising business development activities globally and also advising in all aspects of the KBC business. A chemical engineer with over 40 years of experience, Ramón started his career at Exxon Research and Engineering Co in the USA, where he held various technical, research, and managerial roles. He joined KBC in 1986 and helped the founders conceive, develop and lead many Profit Improvement Programmes worldwide. He has previously led the Research and Development group, the regional business development, and the operations groups of KBC. Ramón holds a BS in Chemical Engineering and is presently a Director of KBC Advanced Technologies, Inc. He has presented papers in international forums, was a guest lecturer at the SMU Cox School of Business and a keynote speaker at AFPM in 2015.
Duncan is responsible for directing corporate strategy and corporate development activities. He has spent the last 10 years advising leaders on business and corporate development in oil refining and E&P across Europe, central Asia and USA in a variety of roles in KBC and formerly at AMEC. Duncan holds a BSc (Hons) Biology & Geography from the University of Exeter and MBA (Distinction, Beta Gamma Sigma) from Cass Business School, specialising in Strategy and Corporate Finance.
Matt comes to KBC in 2017 via the acquisition by Yokogawa. Matt has been with Yokogawa since 1990, and has held several financial leadership roles. He has served as Yokogawa's North America CFO for 13 years and held global expatriate positions in Tokyo and Singapore. Matt leads Yokogawa's M&A program from a financial perspective. Prior to joining Yokogawa, Matt was an audit associate at Deloitte Atlanta. He holds a BS degree in Business Administration from The Citadel and is a United States CPA.
Oscar comes to KBC from the recently acquired Soteica Visual MESA where he was one of the founders and CEO. Oscar's main area of interest is the use of mathematical models to improve process plant design and operations. Prior to joining KBC, Oscar founded Soteica in 1984 and managed the operations of Hyprotech Europe SL from 1991 to 1994. He also led the merger of Soteica LLC and Visual MESA LLC and later the investment of Yokogawa Electric Corp in Soteica Visual MESA LLC. Oscar guided Soteica Visual MESA to become an industrial software solutions house for the process industry. Its products included, Visual MESA Energy Management System (VM-EMS) the industry standard for Utilities Real Time Optimization and VM-PA and VM-SCS for Production/Yield Accounting and Supply Chain Scheduling. Oscar holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina and is a member of AIChE since 1990.
Suzanne joined KBC in September 2016 as HR Director. She has over 16 years' international HR experience at both strategic and operational level. Suzanne is responsible for all areas of HR policy and organisational development. Suzanne is a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and holds a post graduate diploma in Human Resource Management.
Simon returns to KBC through Yokogawa's acquisition of Industrial Evolution where he was a founder and CEO. Simon has a degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, University of London (UK) and an MBA from INSEAD (France). He started his career with Esso Petroleum (now Exxon Mobil) doing process control, process engineering, and short and medium range supply planning. He then joined KBC as a consultant focusing on automation justification in a division that KBC eventually sold to Honeywell. After 10 years at Honeywell in various marketing and management roles around the world, Simon settled in the USA. In 2000, he established Industrial Evolution, pioneering the use of the internet for exchange of process data in real-time to support emerging collaborative business models in the process industries.
